THANK GOD WE LIVE IN CANADA!!

I watch the news every night and I see what a mess so many countries are in. Places like Venezuela, Ukraine, Russia, Egypt, Uganda, Nigeria, Gambia, just to name a few. Riots, intolerance, bigotry, hatred are totally rampant in these places. Many use religious intolerance to back up their rules & laws. Yet, Jesus taught people to be tolerant, loving and forgiving! How far we have come in the wrong way from those teachings!

I am not really a very religious person, but I do believe in God and always have. I do not attend church every Sunday but I do pray to Him. My feelings are that religion should stay OUT of politics and law making completely! Church & State should always be separate! The law being proposed, passed and awaiting signature by the State Governor in Arizona is not only wrong but it legalizes both discrimination and hatred! How can this be! Whats next!? I and many others, sincerely hope that it is NOT signed into law but totally scrapped, never to be brought up again! I is morally wrong and totally despicable.

Several African countries have passed or will be passing laws discriminating against the LGBT community. WHY!? How do they hurt you? They are people just like you and deserve to be treated just like you! Instead, they pass laws to humiliate, discriminate and send people to prison or to their death - just because they love someone of the same gender. NOT RIGHT!!!

These kinds of things MUST STOP! Conflicts such as those in Ukraine, Venezuela and other countries must be resolved and STOPPED!! My heart is sad for the people of these places and breaks for those who have been killed. May they all rest in peace.

Another thing that must come to an end is BULLYING! Whether it's in person or on the Internet (cyber bullying) it is wrong. to many young people, LGBT people and even adults have endured bullying to the point that they take their own lives! This can not continue. To many young lives have been taken too soon from us and they have not been given the chance to grow up and be a part of our world. It is truly sad when these things happen and again, my heart aches not only for them but for those that are left behind to grieve.

Peace & Love to all!

John H.
